Meet the Team

Bruce Wigglesworth - Director

Bruce has been in the construction industry since 1988.

He has experienced in both New Zealand and abroad, having spent over 6 years working and travelling in Europe, North America, Central America and Asia, India and Nepal. Bruce is a Qualiified Carpenter (LBP) but turned his focus to Architectural Design where he completed his Diploma in Architectural Technology in 2001 when he started Urban Design NZ.

Having the dual experience in both building and Design means that Bruce can provide you with a contemporary concept which incorporates both practical and cost efficient construction options for both your design and site.

When not sitting in the office designing or out on site over-seeing the build, Bruce can be found hanging out with his adorable twins, he also enjoys watching his beloved Mighty Bays play rugby or heading north to hang at the bach and do some well-earned fishing on the wild west coast with his Mum and Dad.

Corey Choat – Architectural Designer

Corey was schooled in Te Puke till the age of 15 when his family moved to Whangamata where he completed his final two years of High School.

The following year, in 2006, Corey went on his OE where he played rugby in Ireland and worked in a timber mill while taking every opportunity to travel Europe. Upon his return, Corey moved down to Dunedin to study surveying. He completed the first two years but knew that his heart was really in architecture and design.

In 2010 he changed his study path and completed a 3 year diploma in Architectural Technologies and also the Otago Diploma in Architectural Draughting. After completing his studies in 2012, Corey moved to Auckland to start his first role as an Architectural Draughtsman for a small firm on the North Shore. He worked in this role for 18 months before joining the Urban Design NZ Team.

Corey enjoys the Architectural industry as each job presents new challenges and the opportunity to solve problems with creative yet appropriate solutions. Corey looks forward to working with our clients to achieve their vision while adding an Urban Design NZ twist.

Outside the office Corey can be found spending his weekends down at his hometown of Whangamata with his wife Terryn and his family. Corey enjoys all sports, in particular rugby and surfing.
